Azadi ko 77 saal ho gaye, lekin humara mann aaj bhi ek aise pinjre mein bandh hai jahan se bahar nikalna mushkil lagta hai. 15 August 1947 ne humein bahar se azaadi di, lekin andar se? Mental health ki baatein ab tak bhi ek taboo hain. Hum apni physical health par focus karte hain, lekin apne mann ki halat ko aksar ignore karte hain. Mental freedom bhi zaroori hai, aur uske bina yeh azaadi adhoori lagti hai. "Freedom ki iss journey mein, mental freedom ka kya?" Yeh ek aisa sawaal hai jo har Indian ke mann mein aaj bhi ghoom raha hai.
Aaj ke samay mein stress, anxiety, aur depression itne common ho gaye hain ki lagbhag har dusra insaan in se joojh raha hai. School ki padhaai, college ke exams, naukri ka pressure, ghar ki zimmedariyaan – yeh sab milkar humare mental peace ko chheen lete hain. Kabhi kabhi to aisa lagta hai ki hum bas ek robot ki tarah kaam kar rahe hain, bina kisi emotion ke. Hum khud ko kehne lagte hain ki "sab theek hai", lekin andar se hum jaante hain ki sab kuch theek nahi hai. Shayad isliye kyunki humari society ne mental health ke baare mein baat karna itna mushkil bana diya hai.
Hum dosto ke saath milte hain, social media par apni life perfect dikhate hain, lekin raat ke andhere mein, apni tanhaayi mein hum apni asli feelings se ladte hain. Hum apne emotions ko dabate hain, kyunki humein yeh sikhaya gaya hai ki "strong" log apne dard ko express nahi karte. Shayad isi wajah se hum apni mental freedom kho chuke hain. Aur jab tak hum is problem ka solution nahi dhoondte, tab tak yeh cycle chalta rahega.
Mental health problems ka asli wajah stress, anxiety, aur depression hain. Yeh sirf humare mann ko hi nahi, balki humare sharir ko bhi bura asar pahuncha sakte hain. Stress se insomnia, high blood pressure, aur heart problems tak ho sakti hain. Anxiety ke wajah se hum restless aur irritable feel karne lagte hain. Depression to ek aisi condition hai jo humein zindagi se hi door kar sakti hai. In sab cheezon se na sirf humare daily tasks pe asar padta hai, balki humara self-esteem bhi low ho jata hai.
Mental health problems ke symptoms me mood swings, energy ka low hona, concentration ki kami, aur khud ko social situations se alag kar lena shamil hain. Yeh problems slow poison ki tarah hain jo dheere dheere humari zindagi ko control mein le leti hain. Aur hum apni asli potential ko kabhi nahi jaan paate. Agar in symptoms ko time pe identify na kiya jaye, to yeh chronic problems ban sakti hain jo humari personal aur professional life ko bura asar pahucha sakti hain.
Duniya bhar mein mental health ko lekar kai research hui hain, aur data darr se bhar dene wala hai. World Health Organization ke mutabiq, 1 billion se zyada log globally mental health problems se joojh rahe hain. India mein, har ghante 16 log depression ke karan apni jaan khote hain. India mein ek survey ke mutabiq, lagbhag 56 million log depression aur 38 million log anxiety disorders se pareshan hain. Yeh numbers humein yeh batate hain ki yeh sirf ek individual ki problem nahi, balki poore society ki problem ban chuki hai. Aur jab tak hum is issue par open discussion nahi karte, yeh numbers aise hi badte rahenge.
